Organization and visual layout are the most important factor.  There is not a specific format that must be used, the resume simply needs to be neat and easy to read.  Employers will not see important information when scanning your resume if it is not visually organized.  You do not want the interviewer to struggle to find the information that they are looking for.  The resume is easier to read if the type of font is consistent and the size does not change too much.  Keep the format the same for indentations, spacing, and capitalizing.
